Computers, Internet and Wi
The computers in the Children’s Library are for use by children and young people. Library computers automatically shut down 15 minutes before the library closes. You will be warned when your session is coming to an end. If you finish early, please log out to save your unused time.
- Screen magnification and screen reading software are available on all computers.
- You can access the library catalogue through the computers in our libraries.
- You must have an adult membership card to book an adult computer.
After he retired he began writing to explain many of the interesting things he discovered over the years that are not well known outside of the computer field. You are unable to save personal files on the computers but you can save work onto external storage devices, such as a USB memory stick. Libraries also offer printing facilities including WiFi printing. Staff will be more than happy to help you with any IT query you may have.

If you have a library membership card, you can book by calling or visiting your local library. Buckinghamshire Libraries provide loanable tablets known as Hublets, at various libraries in Buckinghamshire for customers to use while in the library. These loanable tablets should remain inside the library buildings indiancultureonline.com and are subject to the terms outlined in this policy. Our wifi service is not encrypted and as such information sent over the network may be liable to interception by others. Children and young people aged 8 to 15 years must be library members and have parental permission to use the library computers.
The maximum time is 2 hours per day, not 2 hours per library. There are computers in all our libraries for public use. Please read our internet use policy before using our computers. Wifi is available for library members bringing their own laptops or devices into the library.
Printing is not currently available via our wifi network.

Children (members and non-members) can visit filtered websites, free of charge. Search for the ‘Library’ wi-fi network, then read and accept the terms and conditions. The following document will assist with how to print from your smartphone, laptop or tablet.
Using our computers
Every UCL student gets a user ID and password so you can access services. You can join Oxfordshire Libraries for free at any time. Please be aware that you will lose your session if you do not take up your reservation within 10 minutes of the start time. If computers are available when you arrive, you can use them until the next booked session begins. The login screen will tell you how long you have until the next booking.
